Juba Education ("we", "us", "the Platform") operates a school learning-management system used by schools, teachers, learners, parents/guardians, and gate-security staff. Each participating school is a separate tenant of the Platform and is responsible for the accuracy of the data it submits about its own staff and learners.
We process this data to operate the core functions a school asks us to provide: enrolling and organizing learners, delivering and grading coursework, verifying who is on school premises via gate scans, and notifying a linked parent/guardian when their learner checks in or out. Gate location data is also used to flag scans performed far from the school, as a safeguard against fraudulent check-ins.
Many learner accounts belong to minors. We collect only the information necessary for the school's administrative and safety purposes described above, restrict access to it by role (a teacher only sees learners in their assigned subjects; a parent only sees a learner who has explicitly accepted their link request), and do not use it for advertising or sell it to third parties. A learner's ID document and application-level personal data is visible only to that school's administrators and platform administrators.
Access is scoped by role and by school: school staff can only see data belonging to their own school, teachers can only see learners in subjects they are assigned to, and a parent can only see a learner after that learner accepts the link. Platform administrators can access data across schools for support, moderation, and legal-compliance purposes. We do not sell personal data.
We retain account and academic records for as long as the account is active plus a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping, and gate attendance records for as long as the school requires them for safety and administrative purposes. A school or platform administrator may request deletion of specific records subject to legal and academic record-keeping requirements.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to withdraw consent for optional processing (such as a parent-learner link, which can be removed at any time). Contact your school administrator or the platform administrator to exercise these rights.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will ask you to review and accept the updated version before you can continue using the Platform.
